Great Way to Jump into the Android Market

So, you have a great idea for a great Android mobile phone application, but you don’t know how to create it.  There are many ways to start your Android creation, but how cost effective are they?  Android is slowly becoming the most powerful and popular mobile operating system out there.  Created by Google to combat the increase in Apple’s operating system, Android has many functions that Apple’s does not.  If you are looking to push your business or idea into the Android marketplace, then finding the right developer is where you need to start.

Finding a developer instead of trying to hire internally for creation of your Android application is a far more cost effective way to enter the market.  While there are many places to find developers, the best is with Elance.  They have a dedicated Android programmer page that provides you with the best and brightest Android programmers and developers out there.  Instead of checking with each programmer to see if they can do your job, all you need to do is create a job listing and wait for the developers to bid.   This gives you all the control on how you want your job completed and who you want to do it.  Elance also provides a great way to check on each developer to see how they have completed other jobs and how satisfied their clients are.  Word of mouth is the most powerful marketing tool, and Elance provides it to you upfront.  The developers know this, so they do everything they can to make sure you are happy.

Getting an Android application developed can be a very lucrative investment, but without hiring the right people, you can never succeed.  Creating a bad application because you wanted to cut corners will give you a bad reputation, especially if you are creating a business around Android.  Start out right with hiring a knowledgeable Android developer to assist with your project and you will see that it pays to use Elance.  Just remember to take your time and get the application developed right.  Rushing will reap no reward.

Now Your Kids Can Create Apps!

Oh, how technology is advancing these days.  I believe the older generation is still trying to catch up with using email, but now Google is pushing the young generation to create Apps!  That’s right, Google has created technology that will allow school children (and anyone else that chooses) to create apps for their Android marketplace.  Let’s get ready for some of the wildest apps to hit the Android operating system.

Google has introduced App Inventor for their Android operating system.  This software enables users to visually create applications (apps) for the Android app marketplace and for their phones.  While this gives the average person the ability to create something that they would like to use, how will this affect people that actually build quality apps for a living?  The Android app marketplace is not as popular as Apple’s, but with the creation of all these new apps, then could it surpass the amount of apps that Google boasts?

The real question that I have is who will actually check these apps for quality before posting them in the markeplace?  With anyone and everyone having the ability to create apps, someone or some team should be responsible for keeping the junk out.  I understand Google’s intention for this, but have they looked at the future of this technology?  Giving anyone the abilty to create apps with ease can really backfire quickly if it is not regulated.

Now, I will give credit where credit is due.  Google and MIT have established a nice piece of software that will allow people to show their creative side.  There are many businesses and small companies that would love to publish apps, but never had the capital or know how to do so.  With the App Inventor, they now can bypass the hard stuff and just build something that works for them.  This will be the best part of the App Inventor.  I just want to make sure that Google understands that they need to control the quality of the marketplace or it will get out of hand.
