New Twitter Button WordPress Plugin
Twitter rolled out their official Twitter button yesterday for websites and bloggers. This button will most likely take over the button that was created by Tweetmeme. We have already implemented the button as it seems to load a little quicker and is endorsed by Twitter (obviously). Twitter announced their button on their blog with a nice video about the button. It is fairly easy to implement and can be done with about two lines of code.
If you are a wordpress blogger and do not want to implement the code yourself, a fellow blogger has already created a plugin for anyone running WordPress 3.0+. It has not been tested on anything below 3.0 The plugin is easy to use and can be configured just like the Tweetmeme button. If you want the plugin, checkout Blogsessive and download it for free. You will have the new Twitter button on your wordpress blog in no time. You can see the options below that the free twitter button plugin has:

If you want to customize the button and put it in another location in your posts or on your website, then checkout Twitter for the button and the corresponding code that it will provide. Do you think the new Twitter button will take over Tweetmeme? Will most people adopt it and start implementing it soon? Let us know if you like it or think it even matters to change to the new Twitter button, we want to hear from you!
