Postage and Shipping Labels now in Amazon’s Seller Central
Amazon has really pushed the envelopes of online marketplaces. They are really taking a lot away from Ebay and will continue to do so with their great service and easy to use marketplace. They have just announced another great feature that allows sellers to purchase postage as well as print out shipping labels for the US Postal Service. All these services can now be found within their seller central manage orders section. This provides a more streamlined order processing line and will hopefully provide quicker shipping for end users. Everyone wins in this situation, which is why Amazon is so powerful.
Every seller that has access to this tool will be able to automatically purchase postage from USPS and then print the labels for shipping. Discounts are available for this service through Amazon and you will be billed on your settlement report. A few of the discounts include:
- Delivery Confirmation is free for Priority Mail.
- Delivery Confirmation for packages sent via First Class Mail, Parcel Post, or Media Mail is $0.19.
- Buy insurance through Stamps.com, discounted from USPS rates for coverage under the Parcel Insurance Plan.
This service is from a partnership between Amazon and Stamps.com. Amazon does indicate that Stamps.com is the one responsible for service issues as well as any technical problems as it is there service. Stamps.com is really good service for online sellers, so if you do not have access to this tool in your Amazon Seller Central account, then try out Stamps.com. They usually will provide some free postage for new sign ups as well as other items at a discounted price.
Amazon has provided some step-by-step instructions for anyone interested in using the service. This instruction guide should answer any outstanding questions you may have about the service. This is obviously only for US sellers as it is using the United States Postal Service for shipping.
